“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new ever morning; great is your faithfulness.”
We all need a reminder that the character of God we have experienced in Jesus Christ is mercy and grace. This is how God has chosen to relate to human beings as we place our faith in the saving act of Jesus upon the cross. The cross made it possible for God to turn his face away from our sins, faults and failings and to see us as His children, lovable in all our foibles. What a kind and generous God we serve that he would make this possible through such a sacrifice.
I have been feeling especially thankful the last few weeks for the manner in which the grace and mercy of God has been showered upon us. As Lamentations 3: 23 says, God's mercy and steadfast love are new every morning. As a congregation, we can claim that as we gather weekly for worship and fellowship on Sundays and Wednesdays, and all the little ways we meet up in between. This truly is a time of blessing in our congregational history as God is moving us forward together, growing in our understanding of Him and of one another, as well as our call and mission.
This week say a prayer of thanksgiving that God saw it in His perfect will that we would have such a beautiful church in which to worship, as well as such a fantastic location out of which to conduct mission into our community. We praise God that our lives are being transformed daily as we encounter His Word.
